Family Reunion Songs

Our Family Reunion Song ideas to spice up your Reunion!

Family reunions are not complete without music to create a festive mood.  There are many family reunion songs that can be played or sung at most get-togethers and every family will have their own preferences.  The key is to bring print outs of the words to the songs so everyone has the potential to join in.  Some ideas for family reunion songs follow:

1.  Tie song selections to a theme or to the location of your reunion.  For example, western-reunion themed songs:

  • “Springtime in the Rockies”
  • “Okie From Muskogee”
  • “Home on the Range”
  • “On the Road Again”
  • “She’ll be Comin’ around the Mountain when she Comes”
  • “Red River Valley”

Family reunions on a cruise:

  • “Beyond the Sea”
  • “Calypso”

2.  If a video is being created for your family reunion, select songs that reflect your family heritage.
3.  Select songs that encourage dancing in a group, including songs for the kids, the adults and for the entire clan to dance to.
4.  If you have a musical talent show, encourage family members to bring the words to the songs they play or perform so everyone can join in.
5.  Hold your family reunion around a holiday and play/sing songs related to that event, for example:
