"CREATE YOUR HIGH SCHOOL REUNION DECOR"

15 Reunion Decoration Ideas

As your Reunion draws nearer, attention to the decor takes on an added urgency. Check your Estimated Budget for the allotment of reunion decorations and displays and then come up with a design that will fit your budget. Some ideas:

CREATE YOUR HIGH SCHOOL REUNION DECORCreate your own centerpieces. First, choose a theme and then come up with a design. Balloons always liven up a room. You can always add Helium Balloons to any centerpiece or add balloon bouquets around the room:

Begin by coming up with the focal point of the centerpiece:

    1. Make or buy a replica of your high school mascot.
    2. Spray paint Styrofoam shapes of your grad year
    3. Copy and put pictures from your yearbook on interesting foam core shapes. Place pictures on floral sticks and insert in a basket bouquet of flowers.
    4. Design a wicker basket filled with tissue paper in your school colors. Make copies of selected documents: graduation program, diploma, family crest, commissioned posts, pictures of ships, etc. Laminate them and attach to decorative sticks.
    5. Purchase wine bottles with personalized labels. Attach balloons, ribbons, and other accents. Windsor wines are delectable and they make custom labels for their wine bottles. Place colorful confetti in the number of your reunion anniversary i.e. 30th reunion.

For decor around the room:

  1. Copy pictures from your yearbook and place on large poster board. Add Velcro to the back for easy display around the banquet room.
  2. Ask alumni to send in current pictures of themselves with their families and post before and after shots to display around the room.
  3. Ask committee members to bring anything they have from your high school years as school
  4. Potted plants decorated with ribbons in your school colors on memorabilia tables, check in tables and food tables
  5. Purchase movie posters that were popular during your high school years.

Other Displays

  1. Decorate the Registration tables to be inviting and festive with balloons and flowers.
  2. Order a banner welcoming alumni. This only requires one investment outlay as sturdy banners can be used at all future reunions.
  3. Create a Nostalgia table with alumni donated items as a letterman's sweater, cheerleading poms poms, graduation program, school uniform, prom pictures or any other school items that can be found.
  4. Order coffee cups, t-shirts, water bottles or other items that can be sold at the reunion for a small profit. Guests will enjoy the souvenirs and you can raise additional funds toward reunion costs or as a donation to the high school after the reunion.
  5. Memorial Display. This is an appropriate tribute to classmates who have died. It is poignant and respectful.
