Desert Rose Resort - Las Vegas, Nevada

February, 2006

Desert Rose
The Desert Rose Resort in Las Vegas

Planning a reunion can be a daunting task, but by the time it arrives and you get to enjoy the fruits of your labor, it'll all seem worth it. It helps if you're having a great time too! I always recommend that the organizer choose a location that he or she also will enjoy. For those of us who plan reunions, be it class, family or other group, we are always looking for unique locations that all the guests will appreciate. A popular destination for reunions is Las Vegas. The great thing about holding an event in Las Vegas is that there are many activities and locations nearby that will please any age group. The Desert Rose Resort in Las Vegas is a good example of a desert escape for families. It is located near the Las Vegas Strip and offers easy day trips for site-seeing. Besides the shows, restaurants, sporting events and shops, you have an opportunity to tour Hoover Dam, the beautiful Red Rock Canyon or the expansive Lake Mead. These are nearby driving trips and the Grand Canyon can be visited by helicopter. Children will enjoy the Sandy Valley Dude Ranch, The Liberace Museum, Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum and the Elvis-A-Rama Museum and Gift Shop. The Lied Discovery Childrens' Museum is an interactive childrens' museum that features hands-on displays. My 12 year old daughter especially liked the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay and the Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat and aquarium in the nearby Mirage Hotel. You can contact the Resort's concierge services to help organize your activities.

Grand Canyon
Take a short day trip to Grand Canyon!

The Rose Resort also has a pool and hot tub, exercise room, complimentary buffet breakfast service in the atrium, manager's reception with wine, beer and soft drinks (Mon-Thurs), BBQ facilities and shaded seating for your group's gatherings. The suites all have a full kitchen, wireless internet, work space and on-site laundry facility. The sales manager, Sarah-Marie Vergara, is very knowledgeable and can help you plan your event and even assist with your travel plans. If you're looking for a fun location for your whole group and like the desert but want to be a little distant from the Strip, give them a call.
